Guest lecture, presented to the Rotary Club of Cambridge, 7 July 2015.
During the mid-1930s, The Leys School in Cambridge embarked upon a series of Anglo-German exchange programmes, including exchanges with NPEA Naumburg, one of the Third Reich’s most prominent elite schools. The lecture sought to present these exchanges within their wider historical context.
An article focusing on these exchange programmes has recently been published in Angermion: Yearbook for Anglo-German Literary Criticism, Intellectual History and Cultural Transfers / Jahrbuch für britisch-deutsche Kulturbeziehungen 6, 2013, pp. 101-126.
