Napola Exchanges with U.S. Academies

Zoom presentation, given to upper-level history pupils at St Andrew’s School, Delaware, 21 April 2020.

This seminar explored the background to the exchanges which took place between American preparatory schools and Nazi elite schools during the 1930s. St Andrew’s School was one of a group of schools which took part in these exchanges, under the aegis of the International Schoolboy Fellowship (ISF).

This paper draws on material now published in Chapter 3 of Helen’s monograph The Third Reich’s Elite Schools: A History of the Napolas (OUP, 2021).
