Visiting Lectureship @ TOPOI
Helen has been invited to the Freie Universität Berlin as a Visiting Lecturer affiliated with the TOPOI Excellence Cluster: The Formation and Transformation of Space and Knowledge in Ancient Civilizations. TOPOI is a research network hosted by the FU and the Humboldt Universität, and forms part of the newly-constituted Berliner Antike-Kolleg.
On 27 June 2013, Helen gave a lecture to members of TOPOI on “Thermopylaean Topoi in the Twentieth-Century Imagination”. The lecture was organised by Dr. Christian Wendt of TOPOI subgroup B1.1 (Constructing Historical Space).
